We got tired of
planning without doing.
Nomp started from a simple frustration: to-do apps don't make you do anything. They just move guilt around. We wanted accountability that had actual stakes — social, financial, and real-time.
The name Nomp comes from “no more procrastination.” We built the first version in a week, used it ourselves for a month, and shipped it. People started pairing up with strangers across time zones and actually finishing their work. That told us something.
Most productivity apps add more structure. We went the other way. Less planning, more starting. Less journaling, more committing. You tell your buddy you're starting a session. You put money on it. You start. That's Nomp.
We're a small team building in public. We don't have a growth team or a brand strategy. We have users who care about focus and buddies who don't let each other down. That's the whole thing.
What we believe
Radical accountability
We believe the best way to do something is to tell someone you will. Nomp makes that formal, social, and real.
Skin in the game
Pledges aren't gimmicks — they're proof you mean it. Money on the line changes behaviour. We built that in on day one.
Better together
Solo discipline is hard. With a buddy watching, it's markedly easier. Community is a feature, not a marketing word.
Less phone, not more
Ironic but true: we built an app to get you off your phone. Our goal is to make every session so productive you don't need us for long.
